Go to the Course Description Book online on the Knox High School webpage. 1 pg. of notes over classes for next year turn in to the folder.   Examples of notes to take are,  mandatory classes, electives you want to take, vocational programs you want to take. Anything about the course description book that would benefit you or you could use in the years to come. Your education is your responsibility!

August 24 - 28

Day 1 

What is the cost of living in the three choosen areas you listed last class? -            Folder.  

         Agenda: Review Step 1 as a class.  Ask any questions you may have.  

                      Begin Step 2 over your choosen Career and Investigate.

                          16 Career Clusters.docx - read and make self familiar

Day 3

 Bell Ringer: What is the anticipated Job Outlook for the career you have chosen in the city and state you have chosen to live?  turn in.  

          Agenda: Continue to work on Step 2 of the Career Exploration Packet.  When you complete this portion you are to use the information you gathered and create a Pikto Chart @ piktochart.com.  Choose a free template and organize your career information into a creative and eye catching infographic that you would like to read!

         Homework: Career Clusters Homework from last class. Turn in to tray.  Begin the Pikto Chart over the career you chose to research from the Career Exploration Packet.  

 

Day 4  

                 Bell Ringer: What is an info graphic and what are three positive characteristics of an info graphic? turn in. 

                 Agenda: Step 2 Question and Answer Period

                              What is a Pikto Chart?  And what is the objective behind creating one.  

                              Independent work time on Pikto Charts.  

                  Homework: Career Cluster work from Week 6 Day 1.  

 Day 5

                  Bell Ringer: Define the rest of the vocab words from Chapter 3 vocab list - folder. 

                  Agenda: Continue working on the Career Exploration Packet.....

                        Prioritize 1st - Make sure step one is complete and correct.

                                      2nd - Do all of step 2 Gathering Info.  Make sure website are             reputable and up to date. 

                                      3rd - Use the info you gathered to complete/make an infographic on piktochart.com.  More pics, less words, use a theme!  This should not be boring!

                   Homework: What you do not get done out of your priorities I have listed should be done as homework!  The packet, pikto chart/info graphic, and reflection portion (included in packet) is due at the begining of class on Wed. March 1st.  

Week 8 Feb. 27 - March 3 (T-Th ISTEP Schedule)   

            Day 1   Bell Ringer: Why is it important that work ethic, grades, future career, and where you want to live all be aligned ?   - folder

                       Agenda: In class work day for the Career Exploration Packet.  This will be the last day in class you will have to work.  The project is due at the beginning of class on Wednesday.

                    Agenda: New project as of today! Career Cluster Poster Project. Due Today either by email or in the tray.

                   Homework: Their Career Exploration packet is due in the tray and their Pikto Charts are due via Email at the beginning of class. They were told this repeatedly last class. They are well aware.

          Day 3 Bell Ringer:Career Clusters Cross Word. Complete 7 more, turn in to the folder.

                   Agenda:Career Cluster Poster Project - this was assigned last time.  Use the the career clusters source I gave on Week 6 Day 1.  With 75 min in class to do this it should be emailed to me today!

Homework: None, other than any missing assignment, many have not emailed to Pikto Chart and make sure the pack is turned in to the tray!  Next, week is last week of the nine weeks!  Also, next week you will be getting the list for your folder make sure all folder work and notes are done.  Look back through the syllabus to be sure you have everything.  

 

Week 9 March 6-10

Week 10 March 13-17

          Day 1 Bell Ringer: What is the difference between a bank and a credit union?  Folder.

                   Agenda:  We are start a new unit over Finance.  We will be talking about banks, credit unions, pay stubs, taxes, filing taxes, ect....

     Day 1 Bell Ringer:  Make a list of the the things you did not complete last week in Careers.  Folder!

              Agenda: Use the list you just created to complete anything you did not get done last week.  So, that when you come back from two weeks on Spring Break you don't have things from Careers to get done.  Because after two weeks you will forget what and how to do these assignments.  Look back to Week 8 day 2 and make sure all notes and assignments and bell ringers are complete.  Anything from Week 8 day 2 is on the new 9 weeks.  

             Homework: Missing work (bellringers, notes, homework)  from Week 8 Day 2 to the present.
