                                 Agenda: Create a set of Brain Flash Cards using Fig. 9-3  ( How Neurons Work)  

                                              Ex.  Card 1,  Step 1(on front) Dendrites receive information from other nerve cells.  (on back) Next, do remaining step the same way.  

                                             When you are done with the cards mix them up and quiz yourself by trying to put 

                                             them in order.  Quiz next class.  

                                 Homework: Last 20 min of class use to work on Challenge Question #4.  Due on Monday.

      Day 1  Bell Ringer: Google Jean Piaget.  Read an article of Piaget and give a summary over his theories.  Keep it simple I want to you to understand his theory in your own words.  Folder

                Agenda:  Read and take notes over slide 16-30 from the Chapter 9 Early Brain Development Power Point that you did part of last class.                

                Homework: Analogies, Piaget's theories recognize that babies see the world differently than adults, and that they develop in preordained stages.  Draw an analogy to something else that must occur in sequential steps such as the budding of a flower.  They may have a partner, turn in to the tray!

 

     Day 2 Bell Ringer: From the power point, what are 7 essentials for early development?  Turn in.  

              Agenda: This is to be done independently as a class with discussion.  

                           Development Through Play.docx, turn in.  

                           If there is extra time make sure Challenge Question #5 is done and turned in.  

               Homework: Students are to research and come 5 learning tools to help babies brain develop.  What do child development experts recommend for increasing babies brain power?  turn in.

Week 17 May 15-19

     Day 1 Bell Ringer: Get out cards and study for Speech Milestones Quiz.

              Agenda: Speech Milestone Quiz - Mrs. Surfus will pass this out,  please spread out!

                           Continue working on Chapter 9 Study guide and any zeros you have or work that is not completed.    Chapter 9 Test next class. 

              Homework: Study for the test, zeros, and make up work.  

 

     Day 2 Bell Ringer: Review for Chapter 9 Test.

              Agenda: Chapter 9 Test, spread out no one sitting directly next to or behind each other please!

              Homework: Begin Chapter 10 Section 1 (only) vocab and outline.  Outline should be 1 1/2 pgs. Folder

 

     Day 3 Bell Ringer: Finish Ch. 10 Section 1 vocab and outline.  

             Agenda: Have the students look back at the syllabus and organize their folders according to the order of the syllabus.  Ex.  Week 10 Day 1 folder items should be first in the stack.  They can organize it in order from front to back.  Ex.  Week 10 Day 1 items should be on the top of the stack, so on and so forth.  Remember folder items are anything on the syllabus that says to be put in your folder.  Ex. Bell Ringers, Notes, some worksheets.

They must be in order or they will not be graded.  And are due on Wed for white day, and Tuesday for Red day.

Week 18  May 22-26

  Day 1  Bell Ringer - Get out folders and check powerschool for zero's.  

            Agenda - Organize folder according to the list Mrs. Surfus will handout.  This is also a time to make up any notes or bell ringers you did not do during the semester for this folder.  Folders are due today!  

Advanced Child Dev. study guide for the final exam, exact same question that are on the final, the final exam is just mixed up. 

            Homework- Any zero's you may have on powerschool.  

  Day 2 Bell Ringer - Last day for missing assignments.  Check powerschool  for zero and make up work.  

             Agenda - Final Exam Study Guide and make up work !  This is extra time to get everything done, turned, and organized!
